PTR 101[]
A Public Test Realm (or PTR) is a special server, where upcoming features are tested before they are introduced to the live servers. Once these new features are successfully tested, the tested features will be moved into the live game. Players may apply to join this server to help test these features through Customer Service or the Official State of Survival Discord.
How to join:[]
When the developers need to test features in the game, they use the PTR to do this. There are certain criteria you must meet to move on to be reviewed for acceptance as a part of the PTR. Once you apply and meet the requirements, the team will carefully evaluate your application. Keep in mind that not everyone may get an invitation, players will then be given a link and instructions to join the PTR.
(Important Note: You can only be the link to the PTR server by Customer Service. If you lose it or need to get back in for some reason you have to contact Customer Service to do so.)
How to download PTR:[]
If you are qualified, and you get chosen, you will receive an in-game a mail that looks like this:
If you receive this mail, congratulations! You have been chosen to be a State of Survival tester and will therefore be able to download the PTR version of the game. Please know there is a discord PTR server. You need to take part in the PTR discord for the best results of testing and reporting issues. Apple users, android users and emulator users can download and use this version of the game. A download link will be provided in the mail you receive, as well as a link to the PTR Discord server made for testers only. You might have to modify your phone settings to allow installations of apps from sources outside the playstore (Usually in Settings ⇒ Security ⇒ Enable Unknown sources).
You also will receive a private limited code for you only. This will be important later.
Launching PTR:[]
Once you downloaded and installed the new APK, you will be asked to provide a code. You will find it in the system mail you obtained by clicking this.
Make sure you click this AFTER you downloaded the PTR APK.
How things look like in PTR:[]
Once you login, you will find your settlement in a different state and with new players and alliances in that state. You are reset in the game as a new player. You will have to go through the beginning and make progress like before.
Some other features may be missing or different from the original version. Don’t worry, nothing that happens in PTR will affect your original account. This is just a testing realm of the game, not the real game.
When testing a new feature, you will sometimes receive a system mail that will award you items required to test that specific feature. This is an example of a system mail:
Once you collect the rewards, you can try out the different new features. When testing the new developments in the PTR, make sure you report any bug or problem to the correct channel in the PTR discord server.
The PTR runs alongside the game itself as a separate entity. It does not copy the real game but gives you the same game experience. The new testing items in the game are needed to help make the State of Survival game experience better all around. You can help with this by simply reaching out and asking to join the PTR team.
