Background Story[]
Jessica Yao was born into a big family on the coast of China.
Groqing up, her family exerted a large influence on her.
However, she was not a weak, indecisive, or traditional Chinese girl.
Unwilling to accept a marriage arranged by her relatives, Jess ran away to the U.S.,
relying on her work ethic and determination to gain a foothold.
After the Outbreak, she managed to survive largely due to the martial arts skills
she had practiced since childhood. Kind but extremely introverted,
she always struggled making friends. This was worsened by the chaotic
and dangerous turn the world took post-Outbreak.
She came to the Settlement hoping to find a simple life and a couple of real friends.
