STAGE 1: Sudden Crisis[]

Stage duration: 2022/01/07-2022/02/13
Note: Date can change based on the release of the event in your state.

Week 1: Meteorite[]

[A Meteorite crashed into the mine, causing the infected in the area to mutate once again.]

The mine had been abandoned for ages. The roar of mining equipment was no longer to be heard, the only sound was the moans hordes of Infected. On that day long ago, a meteorite shattered the peace. It flared and burned as it cut through the atmosphere, creating a meteor shower. Its impact shattered the glass of all the buildings in the area. The number of Infected in the area would naturally decrease significantly as a result...at least, that's what people hoped.

Radiating outward from the site where the meteor fell, the entire mining area is bathed in purple light. The amethyst ore near the central area is even darker in color. These amethyst-like rocks are distributed in a dense, continuous form inside the caves. In all Becca's extensive geological exploration experience, she too has never seen such a spectacle. Dr. Yamazaki concludes that there is a powerful energy source emanating from the center of the mine. It is not known whether long-term exposure to the radiation has any side effects.

Week 2 - Trouble Brewing[]

[The fear of the unknown drove those near the mine to flee, like a wolf driving the sheep.]

Dark Wolf's men are already lurking in the mine, and GigaCorp claims to be "evacuating" the refugees are just a ruse, in fact they're secretly collecting mineral samples. Refugees who had been living in Settlements near the mine were forced to brave the Infected swarming outside the perimeter fences. They had no choice but to try to kill their way to safety, desperate to getnout. Fear proliferates in the silence.
Things aren't looking good. The Final Hope has to be prepared to defend itself against the worst possible outcome, a blockade and quarantine of the mine.
Who knows what ghastly demons have been bred within the mine? No faction is willing to risk lives to satisfy the curiosity of others.

Road weary refugees from the amethyst mine area break into the outlying Settlements in tidal waves. Facing the new residents, conflict and friction is inevitable.
The refugees bring no useful information about what terrors the mine has spawned, and seem to know even less about the mutant Infected that appeared on the grainy video. What drove them to flee their homes and travel through the wilderness was simply the primitive fear of the unknown. In their whimpering stories we learn of the movements of other forces. GigaCorp has taken an interest. And Dark Wolf's mercenaries move in the shadows of the amethyst mineshafts

Week 3 - All alone[]

[When Julie decides to head to the mine on her own, she finds her friends ready to accompany her.]

Julie is used to going on missions alone. Telling Becca about her plan was just to reassure her daughter.
Julie feels guilty because again, she has to leave without saying goodbye. She learned about Dark Wolf's purpose from clues on the outskirts of the mine.
They're searching for someone, someone whomis invalueable to both Julie and the Dark Wolf's.

Becoming lost in a poorly lit mine is dangerous, to say the least. Unexpected landslides seal off passages without warning.
If you're caught, you'll be trapped in a closed off shaft, eventually expiring from lack of oxygen, becoming a grim warning for others--a skeleton trapped in the dark corner of the mine.
Fortunately, the magnetic field of the amethyst mine was not affected. The compass helped the expedition team to find their way to the center of the mine.

Week 4 - A familiar figure[]

[A group of sentient Infected helped the expedition team of danger. Julie recognized someone she knew among the Infected, and followed them to an entrance leading underground.]

Will the Dark Wolf Mark lead me to him? Julie mused to herself.
As the team continued deeper and deeper, the mine grew dark. In the eerie light emanating from the crystals on the mutant Infected, the terrain of the mine had undergone some bizzarre changes.
What happened to you, boss? Back in the day, you taught me everything, survival skills, combat...hell, even music. Whenever I think of you, I still play that tune you taught me.
Now it's time for me to protect you.

"We fear the dark, that's human instinct."
When exploring a mine, a source of light is essential. The light on a miner's helmet, his flashlight, it can only provide basic and limited illumination. Good thing we're prepared with flares that can work in the absence of oxygen.
As these sentient infected help the expedition team keep out of harm's way, the team members ignite their flares. The red glow flows into every crevice alsso falling on the familiar figure among the departing infected.

"Julie, don't be afraid of the dark. You must learn to overcome instict."
At that moment, Julie remembers what the White Wolf had taught her.

STAGE 2: The Truth Behind[]

Stage duration: 2022/02/14-2022/03/13
Note: Date can change based on the release of the event in your state.

Week 1 - Going deeper[]

[As they went deeper into the mine, the expedition team eventually met with the White Wolf.]

The expedition team came to a downward passage in the mine. Every few meters there was a kerosene lamp placed along the wall, with plenty of fuel in it. It turned out that the mine, which was thought to have been abandoned for a long time, had signs of human activity. The kerosene lamps illuminated the dense footprints on the floor of the passage. Julie thought to herself that she was on the right track, and the Dark Wolf insignia on the ground around the corner confirmed it.

This Dark Wolf insignia made Julie begin to suspect. Could it be that the mercenaries sent by the Dark Wolf had already arrived here before us? But they should not be so careless as to leave such an important item by the roadside. There was only one possibility, this insignia was related to the incident several years ago: the White Wolf had brought an elite unit to this area and had not been heard from since.

Week 2 - Underground Settlement[]

[The fallen meteorite caused some of the Infected to gain intelligence. They built a settlement underground.]

The radiation impact of the meteorite was so great that some of the Infected regained thier rationality and intelligence, including one of the leaders of the Dark Wolf, the White Wolf. These sentient Infected spontaneously gathered around the meteorite and took the White Wolf as their leader. As former mercenaries, these sentient Infected relied on their strong execution to build a self-sufficient underground settlement in just two years.

When the White Wolf led the expedition team to visit the underground settlement, several amethyst monsters broke through the pass and charged towards him. The expedition team immediately switched formations and helped the sentieny Infcted fend off the attack. After a vicious battle, the group of rampaging amethyst monsters were finally eliminated.

Week 3 - Stolen meteorite[]

[An unwitting explorer stole the main body of the meteorite. All clues point to GigaCorp.]

The effect of meteorite radiation is affected by individual differences. While the sentient Infected are undoubtedly lucky, the other Infected have mutated into amethyst monsters under the radiation. They have a beastly thirst for crystals, francally searching for them and embedding them in their bodies, even if the process is accompanied by severe pain. Amethyst monsters get their energy from the crystals in their bodies, which means that the more crystallized the monster is, the harder it is to deal with.

A few months ago, an unintentional explorer came deep into mine. The explorer escaped the attack of amethyst monsters with the help of the sentient Infected and came to the underground shelter to recover from his injuries. After obtaining the trust of the intelligent walkers with lies, the explorer bit the hand that feeds one. He blew up the meteorite and stole the largest piece. The White Wolf and the sentient Infected were badly harmed because of him, and their lifes relied on the remaining pieces of the meteorite. Luckily they found a location tracker left behind by the explorer, and the last signal that came in pointed to the Crystal Research Institute of GigaCorp.

Week 4 - Formal joint[]

[The expedition team and the sentient Infected decided to cooperate to figh against the GigaCorp and retrieve the meteorite.]

Julie was an orphan and did not have a happy childhood. The White Wolf adopted her, gave her a home, and taught her all his skills. From the perspective of others, the White Wolf has lost its former heroic, brave spirit and was no longer admired leader of Dark Wolf. But in Julie's mind, the White Wolf was still her master she can rely on at all times.

The remaining meteorite pieces canmot last long. If the sentient Infected want to keep their minds, they must find the largest meteorite piece - which means a head-on confrontation eith the GigaCorp. Wheter to help Julie or to explore more versatile uses of the amethys, the Final Hope has decided to partner with the sentient Infected.

STAGE 3: Salvation[]

Stage duration: 2022/03/14-2022/03/27
Note: Date can change based on the release of the event in your state.

Week 1 - Legion's Arrival[]

[Final Hope forges an alliance with the sentient Infected to face GigaCorp's Infected Legion.]

With the power of sheer number added to the precision of military command, the Infected legion encircled the mine from all directions, trying to pin down the combined forces of the Final Hope and the sentient Infected. In response, the Final Hope dispatched teams to counterattack and safeguard key locations. However, the Infected legion's high mobility and recovery rate meant the kept encroaching upon the Final Hope forces.

Final Hope's advance team was decimated by the Infected legion, their though alloy shields shredded like paper. Several fighters were slammed into the ground by the vicious amethyst Infected, while those who had lost their shields quickly succumbed in hand-to-hand combat. In the fac of these crystalline monsters, hammers and shotguns were little more than decorations.

Week 2 - Dark Wolf Strikes[]

[With the help of Dark Wolf, White Wolf recaptured the meteorite and led the sentient Infected back underground.]

As the battle grew dire, reinforcements appeared behind the enemy-- Dark Wolf! They helped Final Hope regain control of the meteorite in one fell swoop. The war had come to an end! Stability returned and the events surrounding the battle had opened the possibility -- for all the factions -- of coexisting peacefully with the sentient Infected. White Wolf declined the Final Hope's offer to stay, instead leading the sentient Infected back into the mines. The rest ofmthe Infected legion also went back underground.

GigaCorp saw through the plan to assault the meteorite research base. The fortified blockade became a meat grinder for the Final Hope's troops, inflicting heavy casualties. However, the GigaCorp commander perished while well to the rear of his forces-- snuffed out by a bullet from the shadows.
