The Path of Water event is a modification of the Christmas 2022: Holiday Team Building Event. To participate in this event, Chief's will either assemble a team of up to five people to begin matching or join the solo matching queue and be grouped with four random players. You can get better rewards as your Tier rises. The troops, in contrast to the Holiday Team Building Event, will not be provided. Your own troops will be deployed on the map; however, their power will be decreased to a certain extent. You will not maintain any loss of troops while participating in the event.
In the lower left corner of the event page you'll see the Path of Water opening times, and you can only join the event during these times. The image is an example which is subject to change.

BASIC RULES
1. HQ Lvl 7 is required to participate in the Path of Water event.
2. Each Chief enters the event with two Marches and the levels of Troops are determined by the Chief's progress. Different temporary bonuses may appear on the battlefield, to act as a counterbalance.
3. Players form teams of 5 and play against an enemy team on brand new maps. There are a large number of maps available. Adjust your strategies accordingly.
4. Each match lasts for a total of 10 minutes. The first team to reach the specified number of points, or the team with more points at the end, wins.
5. When a certain period of time has passed in each match, the Final Sprint begins, doubling the number of points provided by the Fortresses.
6. Tallying is done on the last day of the event, during which Chiefs may redeem their Rewards but cannot enter the battlefield.

Roles[]
You can select a role to play on your team. Roles can be pre-selected before and after matching, but once the battle has begun, you're no longer allowed to change them. You are given the role of Vanguard as a default; unless you change it, that will be your role throughout the match. There are 5 different roles that come with different effects and powers. These can be seen below.
Vanguard
Agile frontline fighter Tactical Maneuver: Increases Movement Speed by 100% for 30 seconds, during which all battles are finished instantly.
Defender
Resilient Fortress guardian Iron Fortress: Restores 100% troops upon winning the next 1 battles. Meanwhile, for the next 30 seconds, reduces the time to recover from losing a battle to 1 second(s).
Medic
Skilled healer and lifesaver Vital Surge: Restores 60% Troop Power for all friendly non-combat Marches in a territory, its adjacent and connected territories, and it's adjacent roads.
Support
Versatile team supporter Strategic Aid: Activates one of four effects in the current territory, including Assault, Haste, Ambush, and Slow.
Scout
Swift reconnaissance specialist Teleportation: Teleports the selected March to any other non-spawn point territory.
Tips[]
On the lower left side of the event page, press the "Assign Troops" button to configure your Marches. The number of troops are fixed.
Never empty a Fortress unless your health is low and there are many enemies heading for you. Remember, the respawn time increases with each death.
Always keep an eye out for one another, and always check the number of players inside the building before moving.
Concentrate on occupying Fortresses rather than Towers (a Tower gives no points).
You can utilize the Towers to hinder the enemy's path on various maps.
Even though there are two ways to play the event, it's recommended to form a group, preset roles, and know each other's strengths.
You can invite players from the same State as you are when you choose to create a team. You can send invitations via State Chat, Alliance Chat, or Private Message.
Even though Vanguard's skill can be good to quickly occupy Fortresses in the beginning of the match, unless you're a very strong player, it will usually kill you quickly.
The Defender role is good for mid-players who know that they can take down a few enemies. It's useful to activate either right before you get to a fortress, or right before enemies arrive. If you win the fight, your troops will be restored to full Power, and if you lose, you can get back to fighting in just a second.
Medic is a great role for the players who are less strong. They can stay behind, guard a Fortress close to your spawn point, and observe your team to aid them with healing when needed. Focus on your team's strongest fighter and try to use the skill so that many team members will benefit from it at once. Remember that the ability heals the building you use it on, as well as any building that has a connected road to that building.
The Support role has a bunch of different useful play styles. As well as the Medic, it's a role that is best suited for weaker players. Not only can a Support player aid the team by placing buffs or debuffs on buildings, but they can also send out bombs, which, on contact, will eliminate one enemy player no matter their strength.
If you are already on the map and choose to give up or quit the combat, you will not receive Solo Rewards.
If you leave the team before the matching starts, the member with the highest Tier will be automatically promoted to Team Leader.
Note: To leave a team, go to view team, and then on your profile you will see a small red button on the top right.
